Ridge Gourd Chutney

Ridge gourd chutney is a one-of-a-kind dish with tonnes of health benefits and a delicious taste. This chutney is made with ridge gourd vegetable skin and spices.

Ridge Gourd Chutney

Ridge gourd is so nutritious , rich in essential components like dietary fibres, water content, vitamin A, vitamin C, iron, magnesium and vitamin B6.

High amounts of vitamin A in ridge gourd, in the form of beta carotene, helps to improving eyesight. Good for skin, hair and stomach.

Ridge Gourd Chutney

Ingredients:

  • 2 Ridge gourd
  • 1 sp Oil
  • 2 sp Toor dal
  • 2 garlic pods
  • 4 red chilli
  • Small lemon size tamarind
  • Lemon size jaggery
  • 2 sp freshly grated coconut
  • Salt to taste
  • 100 ml water

Method:

  • Wash and rinse the ridge gourd (turai) .
  • Peel the skin and keep it aside.
  • In a pan add oil, roast toor dal, garlic and red chilli until aromatic.
  • Then add ridge-gourd peel. Cook 2-3 minutes, turn off the heat.
  • Transfer it to mixer jar. Add water and blend make a paste.
  • Enjoy with steamed hot rice.

Note: This chutney can be stored up to 1 week in refrigerator .
