Karonda Chutney/ ಕವಲಿ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಚಟ್ನಿ is a spicy and sweet chutney made of wild fruit Karondas/ Carissa carandas and spices.


Ingredients:
- 1 cup Karonda / Carissa carandas
- 1 sp Oil
- 1/2 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp Hing / Asafoetida
- 1/2 Garam Masala
- 5-6 Curry leaves
- 2 Garlic (chopped)
- 1 Green chilli (chopped)
- 3 tablespoon Jaggery
Method :
- Wash and rinse karonda, remove the seeds and keep it aside.
- In a sauce pan over medium heat add oil, mustard seeds,hing, garlic, chilli.
- Sauté for 1 minute then add seeded karonda.
- Then add jaggery, salt to taste, curry leaves and garam masala.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes or until 1 string consistency.
- Turn off the heat transfer it to container.
- Store it in a refrigerator 10-12 days.
- Enjoy with rice or roti.
