A zapiekanka is an open-face sandwich popular street food in Poland.
- Ingredients
- Loaf of Baguette Bread cut in half and sliced lengthwise
- 1-2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 cup White Mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 small white onion sliced
- 1 cup freshly grated cheddar cheese
- Ketchup for garnish
- 1-2 Spoon chopped Capsicum
- Fresh thyme and oregano(extra)
- 1 Spoon Corn
- 3 Cherry tomato
- Spicy pepper cheese
Instructions :
- Preheat the oven 300F.
- In a nonstick pan over medium heat melt butter, and pan fry mushrooms and onions until soft and cooked through. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- On each half of the baguette, evenly spread the cooked mushrooms and onion to cover the cut side of the bread.
- Add corn and capsicum and cherry tomato.
- Sprinkle with freshly grated cheddar cheese and spicy pepper cheese.
- Toast until cheese is all nicely melted through, about 5 -8 minutes(200F).
- Drizzle with ketchup before serving and enjoy warm.
